Byram wind farm - Nine 125 metre high turbines west of Beal bridge
Woodlane wind farm - 14 turbines to the north east of the bridge The
developer for the Byram wind farm is e-on and they held consultation meetings
The proposals have been on the go for over a year, a comprehensive Scoping document was made available to local Parish Councils in February 2008. The number of turbines has been reduced from an original 10 to 9 turbines. The site is now in the planning stage and a planning application is expected late in 2009. We are not sure if there will be an application for a test mast which is normal procedure. Alternatively e-on may use wind speed data from elsewhere, in which case the next step could be full planning application for the wind farm. An initial application for a test mast would provide residents with an early opportunity to make their views about the proposal known. Just a few facts about Byram : Byram park is a Country estate with grade 2 listed Byram Hall at its centre. Byram is in North Yorkshire. Byram is a rural area with arable farming area. Byram until recently was known as a source for highly prized magnesian limestone building materials.
