Byram wind farm as it will be seen from Poole Lane - Nine 125 metre high turbines, seen over the top of the trees which are about 25 metres high.

In the distant background on this picture is Drax power station - to the left of the end of the line of trees.

Drax is twice the size of Eggborough and has a capacity of 3960Mwatts. It produces 7% of the power needed in the UK.

You would need about 4000 wind turbines to replace the maximum power available from Drax. You would still have periods of calm when no power would be produced.

Wind turbines are not the answer to our power needs - it is not acceptable to sacrifice rural England simply to satisfy the greed of the wind farm companies who profit via indirect subsidy and government incentives.
