Flying the balloon was a great success. The weather was perfect and the balloon could be seen from over 10km away. While it is expensive to fly the balloon and it takes a lot of effort to put all the arrangements in place the results are impressive.

People living in Cridling Stubbs were astounded by the height of the proposed turbines.

The balloon could be seen from over 10km away - past Gateforth.

The balloon could be clearly seen from the A1M and the M62.

The day was chosen to coincide with a visit to the site by members of N Yorks planning committee who will be deciding at some stage whether to approve the application. Villagers horrified when they see the balloon flown at the height of the proposed turbines.
Decision not likely until March 2012 because the Council asks to see a plan for restoring the old quarry sire.
